Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare ~ Ángel Mecánico

“One must always be careful of books," said Tessa, "and what is inside them, for words have the power to change us.”
― Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Angel

Hi Everyone!

After eons, I am back with a review of a book and not only any book but one of my favorite books in the entire world. I have so many favorite books so please never asked for one single favorite book because for me that is not even possible I can´t process something like that is really difficult because I love so many universes and characters and I feel blessed because I´ve have the opportunity to be reading amazing books. I posted my last book review three years ago and now I am re-reading some favorites because I want to meet with my old friends.

If you have some time or a good time following me probably already know about this book. Today I am here with the review about Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare in Spanish this book is "Ángel Mecánico" I have the Spanish edition because I bought this book in a local store around five years ago. I would like to have the collection editions but I had some issues purchasing books with my post office. I hope to be able to buy more amazing books in the future.

I already published a post about this trilogy The Infernal Devices The Shadowhunters and this book Clockwork Angel is the first book in the trilogy. And I  am here to share a review that is probably more my feelings about this book.

About this book

In a time when Shadowhunters are barely winning the fight against the forces of darkness, one battle will change the course of history forever. Welcome to the Infernal Devices trilogy, a stunning and dangerous prequel to the New York Times bestselling Mortal Instruments series.

The year is 1878. Tessa Gray descends into London’s dark supernatural underworld in search of her missing brother. She soon discovers that her only allies are the demon-slaying Shadowhunters—including Will and Jem, the mysterious boys she is attracted to. Soon they find themselves up against the Pandemonium Club, a secret organization of vampires, demons, warlocks, and humans. Equipped with a magical army of unstoppable clockwork creatures, the Club is out to rule the British Empire, and only Tessa and her allies can stop them...

REVIEW

This book starts with Tessa that is arriving in London because she is searching for her brother Nate, this book has a steady step. So first we have the perspective of Tessa and on another hand, we have the perspective of Will and Jem that are boys which are Shadowhunters. The Shadowhunters are a special race that is not human because their blood has human blood and angel bool so they are something like an ancient race. The purpose of the Shadowhunters is to fight against demons and maintain peace between other species like werewolves, vampires, and fairies too. The era in which it is written is the Victorian era so we could say that this book is something like YA with Historical fantasy.

I find how Tessa is involved with these Shadowhunters and how she, in fact, is very special not only to Shadowhunters but to other species. This book has romantic hints but romance is not the principal plot in this book. The narrative is subtle and soft and easy to read. Tessa is a girl who loves books and hates the chocolate and probably I feel so identified with her.

This is about of conflicts she is gonna find and how each character has their own problems to resolve. Another wonderful girl in this book is Charlotte. I love Will 💗 but I also love Jem and honestly this book we see how these two characters are bringing out their best facets (although Will maybe not so much). I think Tessa is one of the characters who ask the most questions in a book and I have been reading for a long time. But her curiosity only denotes the level of intelligence she possesses. To her this whole world of Shadowhunters is new she needs to ask.

Tessa cooperates is quite proactive with everything that is happening and when a certain plot twist occurs she is not the only one deceived but the majority of the characters even more adult than her. I think it is a book that is worth reading as it is full of beautiful phrases. If you follow me on Instagram you can see the number of beautiful phrases that I have been sharing the last days about this book.

  12. ¡Hola! ^^

    Muchos besos.
