A Beginner Guide to Laser Hair Removal

Guest Post

Are you considering getting laser hair removal treatment to banish your unwanted hair?

Widely regarded as one of the safest and most effective hair removal methods, laser hair removal involves the use of a laser to vaporize hair follicles. With fast results that can last for months and even years, find out everything you need to know about this hair removal process and how it works in the below beginner’s guide.

How does laser hair removal work?

As mentioned briefly above, laser hair removal uses a laser to zap away any unwanted hair. Although this may sound like quite an invasive procedure, it is actually very straightforward, and you should not experience any pain or discomfort.

The beauty of laser hair removal, over other hair removal techniques, is that over time, your hairs become softer and finer, which makes them appear less noticeable.

Is laser hair removal safe?

Yes, laser hair removal is completely safe, as long as it is carried out by a professional such as a dermatologist or an experienced practitioner. For example, this laser hair removal near Tampa, FL has a team of qualified laser hair removal experts who have the experience and expertise needed to perform the procedure safely and effectively.

Do not be tempted to try and save money by booking a therapist without the necessary qualifications or training as this can be dangerous, and you are unlikely to be happy with the finished results.

How much does laser hair removal cost for a session?

The price of laser hair removal treatment depends on several factors, including the area of the body where the treatment is needed, the geographical location of the clinic, and the expertise of the person performing the procedure. That being said, you can expect to pay between $100-$800 per individual treatment session.

For large areas of the skin, such as the back and the legs, you can expect to pay upwards of $600. However, for smaller areas of skin like the underarms and bikini area, you may only have to pay around $200-$300.

Are there side effects to laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal has a few possible side effects, such as discomfort, pain, skin tenderness, and/or redness. Some people may also experience swelling, blistering, or crusting of the skin, although this is much less likely to occur when you use a reputable laser hair removal clinic.

To decrease the risk of experiencing any side effects, you should avoid exposing your skin to direct sunlight for four weeks after each treatment.

How many laser hair removal sessions are needed?

As a general rule, the darker your hair and skin, the greater the number of treatments you will need to get the desired effect. While one laser hair removal treatment may be enough to make your hair lighter and thinner, it is unlikely to remove it completely.

Typically, 4-6 treatments are recommended for most people, although this can vary from one individual to another.
