Amazon Kindle 16 GB 11 Generation

Hi Everyone!

Now it is raining, and the weather feels fresh and a little cloudy. This is the perfect time to read, and I am just a little. As a current reader, I am happy to share my current acquisition, a Kindle. This is a device I really wanted for a long time, and this year I have read a lot on my phone and tablet, and it's not the sme that reading a paper back. or in the Kindle.

The mechanism is different, and in the sun I can see the screen perfectly because it is a technology with Ink that works the closest to a paper book. The battery lasts a long time because it is low battery-consuming. And this is reflective so I can read perfectly in the night.

Well, my post is short but I can say in this post that after I started using the Kindle, I finished five books, and I enjoyed my time reading a lot because this doesn´t tires my eyes and that is a wonderful plus, and I am not connected to any red so I don´t have notifications and my concentration has improved a lot.
The Kindle is the perfect gift for a reader. And I am super grateful for having this device with me. On my next update, I am going to share about the new case for my Kindle. If I need to share my review about this product in three words, they could be practical, useful, and lightweight.

From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout

“Fear and bravery are often one and the same. It either makes you a warrior or a coward. The only difference is the person it resides inside.”
― Jennifer L. Armentrout, From Blood and Ash

 Hi Everyone!

I am back with a review I wanted to publish long ago. Today, it's the turn of From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I read this book for the first time five years ago, in 2020, and I discovered it was amazing. And two years later, I read this book again in 2022. This was my first book by this author, and after that,t I guess I read seven or eight books by this author. This is a Fantasy book and was the first shot of this genre by  Jennifer L. Armentrout.

This review is more of my personal appreciation of this book. I just love to read and enjoy each book and a good story, so this is not something like a formal book review or a professional one. This is just me commenting about what I enjoyed in this book.

A Maiden…

Chosen from birth to usher in a new era, Poppy’s life has never been her own. The life of the Maiden is solitary. Never to be touched. Never to be looked upon. Never to be spoken to. Never to experience pleasure. Waiting for the day of her Ascension, she would rather be with the guards, fighting back the evil that took her family, than preparing to be found worthy by the gods. But the choice has never been hers.

A Duty…

The entire kingdom’s future rests on Poppy’s shoulders, something she’s not even quite sure she wants for herself. Because a Maiden has a heart. And a soul. And longing. And when Hawke, a golden-eyed guard honor-bound to ensure her Ascension, enters her life, destiny and duty become tangled with desire and need. He incites her anger, makes her question everything she believes in, and tempts her with the forbidden.

A Kingdom…

Forsaken by the gods and feared by mortals, a fallen kingdom is rising once more, determined to take back what they believe is theirs through violence and vengeance. And as the shadow of those cursed draws closer, the line between what is forbidden and what is right becomes blurred. Poppy is not only on the verge of losing her heart and being found unworthy by the gods, but also her life when every blood-soaked thread that holds her world together begins to unravel.

 Review "No Spoilers"

I started this book with zero expectation, and since the first chapter, I discovered that this book was a wonderful Fantasy universe, and first I discovered a journey of Poppy, which is going to discover a world of lies and uncover truths. The world of a Kingdom. I discovered action and amazing chemistry between the characters.

This book contains a complex universe, a lot of action, and, of course, magical creatures and very dark ones. And yes, the violence and the characters' development are wonderful. I am trying not to say too much. The fantasy is dense, I guess is not for everybody because the fantasy contains a lot of details. This book ended wonderfully, and I love it.

Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros (The Empyrean #1)

“Hope is a fickle, dangerous thing. It steals your focus and aims it toward the possibilities instead of keeping it where it belongs—on the probabilities.”

― Rebecca Yarros, Fourth Wing

Hi Everyone!

Today, I want to start this new month with a review of one of my favorite books recently. I read this book for the first time in January, and I must confess I loved it, and I definitely re-read a month or just a couple of months ago, and I decided to share my review, and I received this book as a gift too . Because the first time I read was on my e-reader app.  I read a lot of positive stuff online about this book, but I read a ton of bad reviews. And I need to say this book is just a Fantasy book and has human relationships in there, which is good with all the magic and power dynamics.

Enter the brutal and elite world of a war college for dragon riders.

Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders.

But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans; they incinerate them. With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their chances of success. The rest would kill her just for being her mother’s daughter—like Xaden Riorson, the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant. She’ll need every edge her wits can give her just to see the next sunrise.

Yet with every day that passes, the war outside grows deadlier; the kingdom's protective wards are failing; and the death toll continues to rise. Even worse, Violet begins to suspect leadership is hiding a terrible secret.

 Review "No Spoilers"

This book contains friendship, knowledge, and how it affects history, how well we can preserve the real facts or the history is fundamental in the development of the real history and that the magic needs balance and we need to be careful because too much is not always the best. There is a romance between some characters, and I must confess that is funny and relaxed this relationship and there are Dragons and magic and a lot of action scenes.

I guess what makes this book is that two major events are happening at the same time. One is the journey of the main character, and the other one we are going to discover with her. I enjoyed this one so much and cried a lot to the end. The dragons are wonderful, and I feel this book is very incredible.

Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas

“What did Aelin promise you?” Hasar smiled to herself. “A better world.”
― Sarah J. Maas, Tower of Dawn

Hi Everyone!

I am back with a book review~ Now my TOC is saying I should have published Empire of Storms because my last review of this book series was Queen of Shadows and that is the cronological order but I wake up two days ago and I decided I wanted to finish to publish the reviews of this serie and I took photos of Tower of Dawn instead of Empire of Storms. But this is not an issue because this book happens in the same time of Empire of Storms. This parallels Empire of Storms (my next book review this week).

This book is like a soft balm to my soul because healed me so much. And I am not going to pretend anything else. If you dont like the author or the book please go ahead.

Chaol Westfall and Nesryn Faliq have arrived in the shining city of Antica to forge an alliance with the Khagan of the Southern Continent, whose vast armies are Erilea's last hope. But they have also come to Antica for another purpose: to seek healing at the famed Torre Cesme for the wounds Chaol received in Rifthold.

After enduring unspeakable horrors as a child, Yrene Towers has no desire to help the young lord from Adarlan, let alone heal him. Yet she has sworn an oath to assist those in need—and will honor it. But Lord Westfall carries shadows from his own past, and Yrene soon comes to realize they could engulf them both.

In this sweeping parallel novel to the New York Times bestselling Empire of Storms, Chaol, Nesryn, and Yrene will have to draw on every scrap of their resilience if they wish to save their friends. But while they become entangled in the political webs of the khaganate, deep in the shadows of mighty mountains where warriors soar on legendary ruks, long-awaited answers slumber. Answers that might offer their world a chance at survival—or doom them all . . .

Review "WITH SPOILERS"

It has been several years since I read this book, but the feelings remain there. In this book, we are going to discover a new continent and new characters too. This book is about allies, new enemies, enemies at common, and royalty, and of course, breaking a lot ot arrongance of the main character this time: Chaol Westfall. This is a journey of self-discovery but adventure, mysteries, and a good quantity of action.

Chaol needs to be healed after the events of Queen of Shadows, and he goes to the best place on the continent where there are the best healers in the world, but he is going to discover that this disease is not only something organic in his body, but also something spiritual and parasitic. It is so complicated, all the stuff this book involves. And I have the chance to know Yrene better, a wonderful woman who inspires me to continue.

The end of this book is so powerful because I already knew that what is coming the last amazing and powerful and incredible book so yes, I guess this book is amazing and I am happy to have the opportunity to read it.

Top 5 Favorites Books of 2022

Hi Everyone!

I should have published this post in January and I know that but that month was complicated and messy now I am starting to be back and more proactive in my blog and I am working better and I am updating, yes I am updating all my SNS and of course, I am back to my reading to my fulfilling thing in my life. The past month was a year when I read so amazing stories and this year I have been reading very slowly but I found a very good book too.

The past year I didn´t reach my goal of reading 80 books and I am not sure if this year I am going to read those books because this year my goal is very low in comparison to other years because I was expecting to do different things.

I read 32 books and that is fine because I discovered amazing stories and I found that I didn´t enjoy some books or authors so was a good year even when I started reading a very annoying book.

These are my Top 5 Books of 2022:

1. House of Sky and Breath by Sarah J. Maas

“Our love is stronger than time, greater than any distance. Our love spans across stars and worlds. I will find you again, I promise.”

― Sarah J. Maas, House of Sky and Breath

Opinion: When I try to find the words to explain how good this book is, sincerely is complicated because this book has too much. This is the second book of this series called Crescent City by Sarah J. Maas. Probably If you have read my book reviews before this is one of my favorite book writers this book was hard to read for me because contains several different elements, but in the end, I can understand how everything wraps to the end this book is powerful.

2. A Light in the Flame by Jennifer L. Armentrout

“Forgiveness benefits the forgiver, and it’s easy. Understanding is acceptance, and that is far harder.”
― Jennifer L. Armentrout, A Light in the Flame

Opinion: Wow this was so amazing this is the second of a book series called Flesh and Fire and sincerely I fell in love with so many characters and different scenes.  This was an emotional reading because the characters have to survive so many things to the end. The universe is delicious and amazing.

3. The War of Two Queens by Jennifer L. Armentrout

“Be careful but be brave.”
― Jennifer L. Armentrout, The War of Two Queens

Opinion: I started to read this book I little scared because this is the fourth book in a book series called Blood and Ash. This book has so many up and downs and sometimes I was confused and annoyed with certain situations but I must confess If I think this book has everything I feel very happy. Because has a good amount of suspense and action.

4. It Starts with Us by Colleen Hoover

“I prefer honesty over loyalty any day because with honesty comes loyalty.”
― Colleen Hoover, It Starts with Us

Opinion: This is a continuation of It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover which was a book that I already published a review because was amazing, but talking about It Starts with Us this is a book that I thought I didn't need but It was a very good book. If you are a fan of Colleen Hoover of her books probably you are gonna enjoy this book.

5. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

“When you're given an opportunity to change your life, be ready to do whatever it takes to make it happen. The world doesn't give things, you take things.”
― Taylor Jenkins Reid, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

Opinion: This is my first time reading this author and definitely I am gonna read more books about this author. I started to read this book with low expectations but everything was on point. This book contains a strong plot and is a wonderful story about love, loss, and grief. And about opportunities and changes.

All the books of my tops are 5 STARS on my Goodreads. I am happy to have the chance to read so amazing stories. It was not easy the order, obviously, number 1 was my top over the top. But all the books contain amazing stories. I hope to continue reading and sharing my experience with these books. All my experiences and reviews are subjective so please don´t take anything too seriously.

A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas

“Amren put a hand above Nesta's heart. "That's the key, isn't it? To know the darkness will always remain, but how you choose to face it, handle it... that's the most important part. To not let it consume. To focus upon the good, the things that fill you with wonder." She gestured to the stars zooming past. "The struggle with that darkness is worth it, just to see such things.”
― Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Silver Flames

Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she's struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can't seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it.

The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre's Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta's orbit. But her temper isn't the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other.

Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the Continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. And the key to halting them might very well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts.

Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance-and healing-in each other's arms.

Hi Everyone!

Today I want to show my review of a wonderful book and sincerely I feel I should apologize for my other books in this series because I just published the review of the first book A Court of Thorns and Roses I own the other three books in this series. But this one was a gift from my boyfriend for one special date. I was so happy to receive this book because was the only one I didn´t have in this book series. Thank you to my boyfriend for this amazing book.

I feel happy to receive this book as a gift because I really enjoyed this book, but I am not happy with the cover redesign of this book series. Anyway, I definitely loved this gift.

Review

I read this book the past year and wow I have been expecting this book since several years ago. First I must confess that Nesta is a complicated character to digest. I read this book with low expectations and the reason is that I don´t like too much Nest (the main character).

This is the fourth book in this series and sincerely this book was interesting because was the first book when the main character was not Feyre. This is the book of redemption where we can understand some of the actions of Nesta. And other actions were because Nesta is just an awful character. This book is about healing.}

And healing is not pretty or quick is a long road with ups and downs. I guess something I really enjoyed about this story was that I know new characters that are so good for this story. They are different with new perspectives and that helps to grow the personality of the main character which is pretty good. And sincerely the main character goes very low to rise to the end. It was a good book sincerely I am not very objective and this is the four book and is complicated for me to share my feelings without spoilers. This book is filled with tension until the end but this book is open to much more of this universe and I am ready for that.

RATING
 ★★★★★

Well, this was my review of A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas. I always think about my book reviews because are just me talking about the book but I guess each book review is very subjective.  I really loved this book and I am happy to own this wonderful hardcover. If you read until here thank you for visiting my blog and reading my review.

FILUC 2022

Hi Everyone!

A couple of days ago I visited the FILUC 2022 book fair promoted by Carabobo University, which is the biggest in this state. So it is a book fair and sincerely I like all the activities that include books. I published a post about this same book fair ten years ago, and sincerely the only thing I could like to repeat from that time is to visit this book fair only with good people. You can check that post If you want to Filuc 2012

This year was small and different from other years. The reason is probably that is the first after several years. Sincerely I would have preferred more book stands. I hope the next year I can see more bookshops there.

This stand was one of my favorites

Diego using virtual reality glasses

Cultural Activities

Ice Coffee

The event was until the night, and I enjoyed the FILUC 2022 It was a simple and good activity. I enjoyed this book fair the cultural activities were good, I didn´t purchase any books this time. But that is fine. I hope the next book fair can be better and bigger than this time. I am happy that this tradition of my university is back.
